Brightness, in color, refers to intensity. Bright (brilliant, vivacious, clear) is opposite complex (dulled, neutralized, muddied). Colors become much brighter in sunlight. Note how different the blue appears between sun and shade on the first house (with planters). Because this is a complex blue, the color, even in direct sunlight, is rich. The blue color on the second house (with purple trim) is not neutralized at all, and therefore looks garish in sunlight. The bottom line: your house color will be much brighter than it appears on that paint chip.
